Passing the Torch

In 2014, two women’s organizations formed independently with the same goal—to effect positive change in the workers’ compensation industry through networking, support, mentoring, and collaboration. Two years later, the groups merged to form the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation.

With leadership by the Alliance board led by founder Artemis Emslie, membership has grown to over 6000 active participants with a national presence and diverse representation from all facets of the industry. After seven exciting years of watching her vision become reality, Artemis has decided to step away from the board and is passing the torch to Kimberly George, a founding board member who has been instrumental in the incredible success of the Alliance.

Artemis knows the Alliance is poised for further growth and success and is excited to see what the future holds under Kimberly’s leadership:

“I never imagined that the concept of knowledge sharing that the Alliance was founded on would be the overwhelming success that it is today. I attribute that to the board members and also the need in our industry. I am grateful to be a part of it. The Alliance board, Employer Advisory Council, and our enthusiastic team of national Ambassadors include the most respected experienced and next generation leaders in the work comp industry. I can’t wait to see where they take us from here.”

Thank you, Artemis, for your vision and your genuine passion to help others achieve success!
